Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are dental x-rays safe?

Yes! Our digital x-ray machines use very minimal radiation, which makes them a safe diagnostic choice.

  • I brush and floss every day. Why should I see a dentist?

Even the best at-home oral hygiene routine can't stop plaque from building on your teeth in hard-to-reach areas. Our tools let us reach every tooth to ensure your teeth are clean and healthy. Plus, we can detect and treat other health issues such as oral cancer, sleep apnea, and TMJ disorder.

  • What causes bad breath?

Persistent bad breath is usually caused by excessive bacteria in the mouth. Proper oral hygiene and routine dental visits can prevent you from getting persistent bad breath.

  • Why do baby teeth need fillings?

Even though your child's baby tooth will fall out, cavities and tooth decay can cause awful toothaches if left untreated. Plus, the decay can actually damage their adult tooth before it even erupts.

  • Can my child sleep with a bottle?

A bottle of water is fine, but if your child falls asleep with a bottle of milk or juice, the sugar can cause tooth decay.

  • What should I do if my tooth is knocked out?

Rinse off the tooth and try to put it back in the socket if it's an adult tooth. If you can't put it in, or if it's a baby tooth, put it in a cup of milk and bring it to our office right away (along with the person who lost the tooth!).
